The Unity University is Africa’s pioneer, non-profit, accredited university in Somaliland. Under the PLO Lumumba Foundation, TUU prides itself as being the education revolution dedicated to opening access to higher education globally by assisting qualified high school graduates overcome financial, geographic, political and attendant constraints in accessing higher education..

With UNESCO estimating that 100 million young people will be seeking vacancies in universities by 2025, it strikes rather shockingly that such vacancies and universities don’t exist. Since TUU believes that access to higher education is a basic right which promotes world peace and global economic development, it has undertaken to contribute to bridging this gap.

Admission Open for 2023

The academic programs are organized in a modular semester system schedule. Seven credit modules shall be undertaken per semester as the maximum course load for Bachelor’s degree students. Students take a two-hour block classes for all modules and a one-hour tutorial (Case studies) class per week. Students attend block classes and the regular class daily.

TUU Objectives

  1. Offer academic programmes of appropriate scope, quality and value to meet the needs of the people of Somaliland, Africa, and the rest of the world.
  2. Establish and continually raise funds for the TUU Academic Trust to support the University’s projects.
  3. Establish and maintain a modern library and a computer center.
  4. Publish and circulate regular, reliable and competent journals
  5. Promote the access of disadvantaged students to Higher Education through scholarships, Bursaries and any other means adjudged relevant to increase the pool of refined and learned citizens.
  6. Bridge the employability gap through tailored and market driven skill training to spur Africa’s development.

Offer socially responsible services through robust engagement with stakeholders in synergized efforts to change the quality of life of Somaliland
