The Chancellor of The Unity University, Prof. PLO Lumumba, will deliver the keynote address at the 11th Criminology and Criminal Justice Conference (CCJC) 2026.
The two-day conference will take place at USIU-Africa in Nairobi, Kenya, from July 30–31, 2026, bringing together academics, legal professionals, policymakers, criminal justice practitioners, researchers, and students.
This year’s conference will examine the role of law in shaping criminal justice and explore reforms needed to make justice systems fairer, more equitable, and more responsive to the evolving needs of society.
Prof. Lumumba’s keynote is expected to provide valuable insights into the relationship between law, justice, governance, and institutional reform. His participation will enrich discussions on strengthening the rule of law, protecting human rights, improving access to justice, and building public confidence in criminal justice institutions.
As Chancellor of The Unity University and a distinguished legal scholar, advocate, and Pan-African thought leader, Prof. Lumumba brings extensive experience in law, leadership, governance, and public-sector accountability.
The 11th CCJC offers an important platform for participants to exchange knowledge, examine current challenges, and develop practical approaches to creating inclusive, accountable, and people-centred justice systems.
