Is The Unity University really tuition-free?
Yes. TUU is Africa’s first tuition-free university. The only cost is a one-time, non-refundable admission fee at application.
Do I have to take the Foundation program?
Yes — the seven-month Higher Education Certificate is a mandatory bridge for degree entry, building academic writing, critical thinking and ICT skills.
What are the undergraduate entry requirements?
A high school certificate or equivalent, with a grade “C” average at O-Level, plus originals, certified transcripts and two passport photos.
Can I join a Master’s directly?
If you hold a bachelor’s degree in a complementary field with at least second-class honors, yes — master’s programs are offered in all five faculties.
How long is a bachelor’s degree?
Nine trimesters — three academic years — in a modular semester system.
Is study available online?
Currently teaching is classroom-based; e-learning and distance education are launching soon.
Which languages are used?
All programs are taught in English. The Foundation year also includes Basic Kiswahili.
I studied outside Somaliland — what extra steps apply?
Your transcripts and certificates must be certified by the Somaliland National Exams & Certification Board and the National Commission for Higher Education.
